Alor Tanapi Resort

Alor Tanapi is a newly built dive resort opened in 2023 located on the island of Alor in East Nusa Tenggara, Indonesia. The resort offers comfortable accommodation, freshly prepared meals and high-quality diving facilities and equipment to ensure a complete dive vacation in a remote setting. The resort itself is located on a hill in Sebanjar, on the Bird’s Head Peninsula, overlooking Pantar, Pura and Ternate islands. The resort has direct access to over 40 different world-class dive sites within 30-45 minutes by speedboat.

Alor Tanapi has 6 rooms that offer views over the ocean, air conditioning, open-air ensuite private bathrooms, spacious balconies to relax on and Western-style amenities. You can choose from 4 room types, Hillside Standard Bungalow, Oceanfront Standard Bungalow, Seaview Deluxe Bungalow and Oceanfront Deluxe Bungalow.

Alor Tanapi Resort’s dining area area offers a beautiful view overlooking the Pantar Strait, facing the extinct volcano islands of Ternate and Pura. From here, you can watch the sun as it sets behind Pantar island every evening.

The resort serves three meals daily family-style, snacks are available in the afternoon or early evening, free-flow of coffee, tea, and drinking water are included. As much as possible, they source ingredients locally and work closely with the local farmers to help them develop their garden in order to have a broader range of different fruits and vegetables. Inspiration for the dishes draws on many recipes from across Indonesia, Southeast Asia, and, at times internationally, to create delicious, homemade meals.

The lounge area is connected to the restaurant and shares the same beautiful views for you to enjoy while you relax. The restaurant and lounge area also features a bar and a small library where you can take a look through fish books and various reading materials. There are sofas from which you can enjoy the view and relax.

Diving with Alor Tanapi
Located in the heart of the coral triangle, Alor diving is renowned for its great visibility, stunning coral reefs, pelagic encounters and small bizarre critter hunting in the muck sites. There are more than 40 dive sites that can be reached within 30-45 minutes by speedboat from the resort. It is also possible to do day trips to some dive sites located in Beang Abang which offer some great muck diving, a highlight for underwater macro photographers.

Alor Tanapi Resort’s newly-built dive center comprises two stories: on the first level, you will find an outdoor shower to rinse off after your time in the sea, dedicated rinse tanks where the crew will take care of washing your BCD, regulator, fins, wetsuit, mask and camera, a drying area for your gear, a wet room to store your equipment, as well as a changing room and a washroom. Adjacent to the wet room, there is a dedicated camera room to dry, disassemble and charge your camera. On the upper floor, there is a relaxing area and a deck with sun chairs and umbrellas where you can soak up the sun.

The resort’s custom-built fiberglass boat was designed with divers in mind with plenty of space to store your dive gear and camera. It can take comfortably up to 8 divers and 2 dive guides. Equipped with two 150HP 4-stroke Yamaha engines, you will reach the majority of the dive sites within 20 minutes.
