Your stay at Gangga begins with their air-conditioned vehicle picking you up from Manado International Airport and taking you through the beautiful North Sulawesi countryside. After an hour’s drive you arrive at a pier, where one of Gangga’s spacious boats is waiting to take you across the strait to Gangga Island.
Upon your arrival you will be welcomed to your bungalow built on stilts with high ceilings and a spacious veranda overlooking the beach. Gangga Island Resort has two open-air restaurants and a full-bar. The main restaurant located in the center of the resort offers a selection of Mediterranean and Indonesian dishes made with the freshest local ingredients. The outdoor Bamboo Restaurant set under the coconut trees serves fresh fish barbeques two nights a week accompanied by local musicians from the island performing Polynesian style music. The Coconut Bar is open all day long with your favorite cocktails, as well as tea and coffee readily available.
Of course the highlight of Gangga Island Resort is the acclaimed Gangga Divers dive center. Gangga Diver’s PADI Five Star dive center is run by International dive instructors. Qualified guides and dive masters pride themselves in offering very personalized diving service to suit divers of all levels of experience. Gangga Divers can take you to over 30 world class diving locations in their 5 boats specifically built for diving, three with onboard toilets, all with easy on and off access. Each boat is fully stocked with towels, freshwater tanks for cameras, drinking water, hot drinks and snacks. Being a member of the North Sulawesi Watersports Association (NSWA), Gangga Island Resort is committed to protecting the local reefs and is involved in conservation and development projects aimed at helping the local communities create sustainable tourism activities.
From Gangga Island divers have access to the underwater wonders of the rarely dived islands of Bangka, Talisei, Tindila and Lihaga, and if you wish to venture further afield, the dives sites of Bunaken or Lembeh can be reached in just 75 minutes.
